Highmark Medicare Services Assumes Section 1011 Administration

Highmark Medicare Services (HMS) is the new Section 1011 contractor beginning Monday, November 29, 2010. At the close of business on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, TrailBlazer Health Enterprises™ will end its Section 1011 work. The technical aspects of the transition to HMS will occur during the Thanksgiving holiday, and, beginning the Monday following Thanksgiving, HMS will administer all aspects of the Section 1011 program, including quarterly provider payments, medical and compliance reviews, customer service, enrollment, dispute resolution, and outreach and education.
